The Technical Secretariat is the organization responsible for the execution, collaboration, coordination, and implementation of the Law.
The advisory committees, which fall under the control of the Board of Directors, are comprised of at least three members, one of which must be a member of the Board of Directors; while the administrative committees fall under the control of the Executive Office and are comprised exclusively of TS personnel except when the participation of an independent member is duly justified.
The Board of Directors is the highest authority of the SBD and is comprised of the Minister of Economy, Industry, and Commerce (MEIC); the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG); the Executive President of the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT); a representative of the industrial and services sector appointed by the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica; a representative of the farming sector appointed by the National Chamber of Agriculture and Agrobusiness; a representative of the tourism sector appointed by the Tourism National Chamber and an independent member appointed by the Association of Economic Science Professionals.
